COURSE DESCRIPTION:

MFD 304 Forecasting and Branding

This course will provide students with tools for trend forecasting consumer analytics, using resources and visual imagery.

COURSE OBJECTIVES: 

Upon completion of this course, students will:

  • Define the role of forecasting in the textile and apparel industries

  • Analyze current fashion within a theoretical framework

  • Understand and identify past and future trends

  • Identify and understand societal changes and the impact on fashion trends and branding

  • Comprehend the breadth and depth of the forecasting process

  • Follow the forecast continually to determine reasons for significant deviations from expectations.
