ABOUT ME
I grew up in a small town right outside of St. Louis, called Washington. Personally, I believe just because you grow up in small town doesn't mean you can't dream big. Your goals are supposed to be obtainable, while still pushing yourself outside of your comfort zone. Going into my freshman year of college I had no clue what I could or even wanted to do with my life ahead. There was an interest in Criminology and Fashion Design/Merchandising always in the back of my head. But, I just wasn’t ready to make that great of a commitment. Thrifting and refurbishing clothes was something I always had a knack for. I became very interesting in this craft around my senior year, when I met a new teacher at my high school. She was young and had just started her career out teaching Design courses. Every day she would come into class head-to-toe in clothing articles she made herself. I instantly connected with her and she would push me to make outfits I wouldn’t have even dreamt of making two years ago. Everything she made was her own creation and she was the one who taught herself how to sew and design. Her independence and eagerness to help me really lit that spark. One person took me under their wing and that is all anyone needs in life. In my career as a fashion designer, I not only want to make others feel confident in what they wear but I want them to feel connected with me by wearing my clothing. I don’t just want to make high-end fashion that is way overpriced and something the general population cannot have. My clothing line will be affordable yet unique to each individual. I especially want my target market to be younger women. Them knowing they can standout and be their own person with my clothing would be a dream come true. To make this dream a reality I will have to push myself to my maximum potential.
